The Hidden Lotus Pond
Sometimes you discover places that you never expect to exist. I had a similar experience with one of such places in Hyderabad. Bang in the center of this hustling-bustling city is this little piece of nature that I love to visit whenever I get a chance again. It is located deep inside MLA Colony, Jubilee Hills.
This place is like a little treasure in the busy manic city. The moment you enter into this little park , so called Lotus Pond, you forget you are in Hyderabad, seriously no kidding. There is a little pond here in this park and is surrounded by lush green flora and a 1.1 kilometer path. There are about 20 species of birds that can be seen in the park during various times of the year. Though the namesake flowers I think should be seen in the monsoons, but I have never visited during that time, may be I should visit this place sometime in Monsoons as well.
There are few places for which it’s really very hard to sum up in words, Lotus Pond is certainly one of them. All I can say is- experience it yourself and I’m sure you will be speechless too. I bet, that feeling of satisfaction and rejuvenation together will make you visit this place several times. For now, all I will say is- just look at these pictures that I’m posting here and close your eyes to imagine yourself in these pictures, and that’s it!
Lotus Pond opens up in the mornings from 6am to 10am and in the evenings from 4pm to 8pm. If you are planning on visiting it in the evening, you better make it early because as it gets dark, the park’s lighting isn’t as sufficient to experience the beauty all around and it can get difficult to see your way around.
